Cebu's current events, best sellers, interesting product lines.
Cebu City, Philippines hosted this year’s Global Media Citizen Summit with guests and participants emanating from 60 countries worldwide.
Some 300 international bloggers, tech specialists and media followers congregated at the Cebu Provincial Capitol, Uptown Cebu, on January 24 & 25, to discuss issues touching on freedom of information, digital security, internet activism, indigenous languages and multi-lingualism on line, among others.
Global Voices, an international citizen media network which was founded in 2004 at Harvard University, spearheaded the affair which coincided with the group’s 10th Anniversary.
To recall, previous media summits had been conducted in UK, India, Hungary, Chile and Kenya.
While in Cebu, guests not only had the chance to immerse in Filipino culture -in general -, and Cebuano, in particular, but see the sights, hear the sounds and taste Cebu’s savory delights, as well.
Please check out the photos on this spread and see for yourself, how the academe, culture, friendship & social interactions blended well, during the workshops, lectures, panel discussions and lively Q and A’s, which captured audience attention during the fleeting two-day assembly. #
A first timer to the forum, it was indeed informative in many respects, an eye-opener and socially interactive.
To the organizers and supporters, my appreciation for the opportunity afforded !
Prayerfully looking forward to the next assembly . . .#
